Oman is on the southeastern coast of the Arabian Peninsula in western Asia. It has coasts on the Arabian Sea and the Gulf of Oman and borders the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, and Yemen. The House of Al Said has ruled Oman since 1749.
In 2021, Haitham bin Tariq Al Said, Sultan of Oman established the position of the Crown Prince by a Royal Decree which amends the Basic Law of the State. His son Theyazin bin Haitham became the heir apparent and first Crown Prince of the Sultanate of Oman.
