Thailand is in Southeast Asian in the center of the Indochina Peninsula. Previously an absolute monarchy called Siam, the kingdom changed its name to Thailand and became a constitutional monarchy in 1932. The Chakri Dynasty has ruled in Thailand since 1782 but the monarchy in Thailand traces its roots back to the 13th century. The current Thai Royal Family is known as the House of Mahidol, a cadet branch of the Chakri Dynasty, descended from Prince Mahidol Adulyadej of Songkla (1891–1929), the paternal grandfather of the current king.
Below is an indexed listing of biographical articles about the Thai Royal Family at Unofficial Royalty. If it says “Notable Issue” before a name, that means not all of the children for the parent of that person are listed. Also listed below are links to various Thailand Content Areas.
